What are Veneers?
A veneer is a “thin piece of porcelain used to re-create the natural look of teeth, while also providing strength and resilience comparable to natural tooth enamel.
Veneers Procedure
Getting a dental veneer usually requires three trips to the dentist – one for a consultation and two to make and apply the veneers. One tooth or many teeth can undergo the veneering process at the same time.
There are two materials that you can have your veneers created from: porcelain and composite. If you choose porcelain, you’ll enjoy the most aesthetically pleasing and durable option. It requires two visits. At your first visit, we’ll take impressions/scans and prepare your teeth. Your veneers are then custom-fabricated in our laboratory, and you’ll return to have them bonded onto your teeth.
Composite veneers can be completed in a single appointment. While they will look great, they aren’t as durable as porcelain. They are, however, a more budget-friendly option. We’ll go over the advantages and disadvantages of each with you so that you can decide how you’d like to proceed.
